Timber Appraisal and Sale

Utilizing our services to appraise and sale your timber can insure that you receive the most for your timber. The operation is supervised by a registered forester and the track is managed for future forest sustainability and resource diversity through proper reforestation of the harvest area

Harvest Planning

Proper preparation of a harvest is done to insure that the landowner objectives are met and that the track is harvested in the most effective manner for protection of the natural resource and compliance with all environmental regulations.

Forest Management

Proper forest resource management starts with a forest management plan. With over twenty years of experience in preparing and implementing forest management plans in the Southern Appalachians, we can bring all of this experience to bare in developing a plan tailored to meet your objectives, save you money, and insure that your property is well managed for a variety of natural resources.

Wildland Urban Interface

The wild land urban interface is a growing challenge for landowners, fire services, and resource managers. With 20 years experience in this arena, we can develop Firewise plans for individual homeowners and property developers that address such issues as proper access, evacuation routes, safety zones, water sources, home defendable space, and fuels modifications. We can implement plans that can lower the risks of wild land fires and manage public space for its wildlife habitat and recreational opportunities. Also we can apply for federal grants to assist with mitigation efforts and qualify developments as nationally recognized Firewise Communities.

Wildlife Management

Wildlife habitat diversity is an important component of any forest management plan. We strive to incorporate strategies in the implementation of forest management activities that will enhance the habitat for a variety of wildlife species through creation and maintenance of diverse forest landscapes.

Reforestation

After a timber harvest it is very important to ensure that the property is reforested for future forest sustainability and health. We can develop and implement reforestation plans for individual tracts that meet landowner objectives and is tailored to local environmental conditions.

Forest ecosystems are diverse and ever changing. There are many ongoing environmental
factors that continually affect the forest including insect or disease infestations, storm,
flood and fire damage, forest decline and forest stagnation. Also human interference
including trespass, theft, vandalism, erosion problems, etc. can affect a landowner's
investment.

In order to protect this valuable investment and maximize future timber value, diversity
and forest health, periodic inspections by a forester are needed to document changes and
make appropriate management recommendations to meet landowner objectives.
Brady Environmental Management offers a forest inspection service according to
landowner needs, whereby a forester visits the site to collect field data and document
current forest conditions.

If the landowner has an active forestry plan, Brady Environmental Management will
update the plan as needed to meet changing conditions and landowner objectives. If no
forestry plan has been prepared for the tract, then a new plan can be developed for the
property according to landowner objectives. In both cases, Brady Environmental
Management can assist with implementation of the plan recommendations.
If all you need is a simple checkup, then we can do this. If you need a forest resource
management plan, that can be done as well. In either case, please contact us to set up an
appointment to visit your property to ensure that your forest investment is protected and
properly managed.
